The Ruler - Distance measuring tool (see Figure 1) is used as an aid for measuring distances between objects in the drawing area.

To measure the distance between two objects in the drawing area, follow these steps:
Select the Ruler - Distance measuring tool from the toolbar above the 2D view.
Move the mouse pointer to one of the two objects in the drawing area. A blue frame is shown around the object (see Figure 2).

Click and then release the mouse button.
Move the mouse pointer to the other object. A blue arrow is now attached to the pointer and displays the distance between the two objects (see Figure 3).

Click once to release the arrow from the mouse pointer. Should you wish to continue measuring distances in the drawing area, simply repeat the procedure.
Note: Two dimensions are shown on the arrow; a rounded value and an exact value. You set the precision of the rounded value on the Tools tab in the Dimensions and Leaders field. |
