Zoom rectangle

With the Zoom Rectangle tool (see Figure 1 below) you can enlarge a selected section of a 2D drawing area. The zoom rectangle is also useful when you want to zoom in on a very small detail. This feature is accessed from the toolbar above the 2D view.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Zoom Rectangle.

  2. Move the mouse pointer to the drawing area. A small, light blue rectangle follows.

  3. Click close to the area you want to enlarge. Now click and hold the mouse button as you drag the rectangle over the area you want to enlarge.

  4. Release the mouse button.

  5. A new image appears, containing the enlarged area inside the light blue rectangle. Repeat this procedure to obtain detailed close-ups. When you want to return to the original scale, double-click anywhere in the drawing area.

 

Note: Besides clicking the toolbar, you can also right-click in the drawing area to access the feature from a shortcut menu.
