Zooming in on selected group

Use the Zoom in Selected Group feature (see Figure 1) to quickly zoom in on a group of objects in the drawing area that are selected together. This feature is accessed from the toolbars above both the 2D and 3D views. For this feature to be activated (so that the icon is not gray), you have to select the objects in the drawing area.

Follow these steps:

  1. To select the group of objects you want to zoom in on, click each one individually while holding down the Ctrl key. Another way to do this is with a group of components that are already connected (yellow triangles shown between them). The Zoom in Selected Group icon is then activated.

  2. Click it. The selected component group is shown in a close-up.

Note:

  • An alternative way to zoom in on a selected group in the 2D view is to place the mouse pointer on one of the objects in the group and scroll the mouse wheel to zoom.

  • An alternative way to zoom in on a selected group in the 3D view is to click on one of the object in the group (to display the red focus point) and scroll the mouse wheel to zoom.

  • If finer zooming is required, press and hold down the Ctrl key while scrolling the mouse wheel.

  • If even finer zooming is required, press and hold down the Shift key while scrolling the mouse wheel.
