There may be times when you want to temporarily turn off automatic snapping. You can deactivate automatic snapping by pressing and holding the SHIFT key while working with the components.
To deactivate the snapping function for components already placed in the drawing area, you can also follow these steps:
Switch from Expert to Standard user level, using the user level option in the upper right corner of the program window.
Clear
the Snap check box
on the 2D view toolbar and/or the 3D view toolbar.
To take manual control over basic surface snapping, you can use the Graphical snapping feature. Note that manipulating the graphical snapping does not override the yellow snap points on components.
Go to the Edit menu and select Graphical snapping. The Snapping toolbox opens.
Select a component from one of the component tabs and move the mouse pointer to the drawing area.
From the Snapping toolbox, select how you want the new component to snap to the existing objects in the drawing.
Move the component closer and let it snap to the existing object. An identical component is now attached to the mouse pointer.
Repeat step 4 to place an identical component. If you do not want to place more components, press the Esc key or move the mouse pointer outside the drawing area.
