Sometimes it is necessary to group components in the drawing area. For example, this could be useful when you want to move several individual components at a time in the drawing area.
In order to create a permanent group, at least two components must be activated. In this case, they form a temporary group. It is easy to turn a temporary group into a permanent group.
There are several ways of doing this:
Choose Group from the Arrange menu.
Click on the Group button on the toolbar.
Use the shortcut key Ctrl+G.
Right-click on one of the activated components and choose Group from the pop-up menu.
Whichever of these options you choose, a light-blue rectangle will appear around the activated components. The rectangle has a snap point inside it on the right-hand side. You can use the snap point to rotate the entire permanent group. To do this, you click on the snap point and drag it. You can also move the group by clicking anywhere inside the rectangle and dragging.
To ungroup a permanent group, use one of the methods below after you have activated the group:
Choose Ungroup from the Arrange menu.
Click on the Ungroup button on the toolbar.
Use the shortcut key Ctrl+U.
Right-click on one of the components and choose Ungroup from the pop-up menu.
To ungroup several permanent groups, use one of the methods below after you have activated all of the groups:
Choose Ungroup All from the Arrange menu.
Right-click on one of the components and choose Ungroup All.
