Those components, which have elevations connected to them are found under Office/Home on the Storage tab in InstantPlanner . The descriptions of elevation views below will apply to the cabinets on this tab.
Sometimes you want to place several identical cabinets with identical interior in the drawing area. In order to avoid positioning a Base and Storage Frame for each one, you can simply make one complete cabinet with an elevation view and then copy that one.
There are three ways of doing this:
A. Using Copy and Paste Copies of Elevations, you make a copy of the base as well as a copy of the elevation view.
Follow the instructions below:
Right-click on the Base you want to copy. A pop-up menu is displayed.
Choose Copy.
Put the mouse pointer where you want the copy to appear in the drawing area and right-click again. A pop-up menu is displayed.
Choose Paste Copies of Elevations. This option is also accessed from the Edit menu.
A copy appears next to the mouse pointer. Click the copy in position where you want it to appear. When you have clicked it in position, a new elevation view appears. You can position any number of bases and elevation views in the drawing area.
B. By using Copy and Paste, you can make a copy of the base without showing the elevation view (you have the elevation view of the original already, so the copies will still be complete). This method is preferred when you have many identical cabinets and you want to avoid a whole row of similar elevations on the drawing area.
Follow the instructions below:
Right-click on the Base you want to copy. A pop-up menu is displayed.
Choose Copy.
Put the mouse pointer where you want the copy to appear in the drawing area and right-click. A pop-up menu is displayed.
Choose Paste.
A copy appears next to the mouse pointer. Click the copy in position where you want it to appear. When you have clicked it in position, a new copy of the base appears. You can position any number of bases in the drawing area.
C. Positioning a new base in the drawing area and then copying the properties of the original component onto the new base. Using this method, the copy will not have an elevation view (you already have the elevation view of the original, so the copy will still be complete).
Follow the instructions below:
Position a new Base in the drawing area next to the base of the existing cabinet.
Double-click on the elevation view. A little dashed rectangle will appear on the mouse pointer.
Snap it to the new base and click.
Note: If you want to hide the elevation views on your printouts, use a print frame and leave the elevations outside of it. |
