Creating your own RGB Colors

If you want to create your own RGB colors, for which you know the exact values, and use them directly on components in the drawing area, follow the instructions below:

  1. Right-click on the component you want to change. A pop-up menu is displayed.

  2. Choose Material/Color from the pop-up menu. The Material/Color Change dialog is displayed.

  3. If it is not already selected, click on the RGB Color radio button, in the field Color Model/Type. The RGB Color field appears in the dialog.

  4. Enter the values directly in the three text boxes for red (R), green ( G) and blue ( B).

  5. Click on OK or Apply.

Creating your own Colors and a Color Database

From the Material/Color Change dialog box, you can also, using the Select and Edit RGB Color dialog, create a database containing your own colors.

Follow the instructions below:

  1. If it is not already selected, click on the RGB Color radio button, in the field Color Model/Type. The RGB Color field appears in the dialog.

  2. Click on the arrow on the right of the drop-down list.

  3. Choose Custom from the list.

  4. Click on Browse. The Select and Edit RGB Color dialog is displayed.

  5. Enter the RGB value directly in the text boxes or click on the Get color button.

  6. A Color palette opens where you can select the desired color by clicking on it. Confirm with OK.

  7. The selected color now shows in the dialog Select and Edit RGB Color.

  8. Enter a category name, for example "Blue" for shades of blue, in the text box next to Category.

  9. Enter a name for the color you have created (for example "Light blue") in the field next to the heading Description.

  10. Click on Insert. Your category and color are added to the Category and Description boxes in the field Color Database.

  11. Click on OK or Apply in the dialog box Select and Edit RGB Color.

  12. Click on OK or Apply in the Material/Color Change dialog, if you want to use the color directly on a component.

 

Note:

  • To add a new color to the same category, repeat steps 4-9.

  • If you do not want to use the color directly on the component, but only want to add the color to the database, click on Cancel in the dialog Material/Color Change.
