Saving Custom Articles

It is possible to add data to a generic product and then link this information to that specific article by saving it in a database. This is done in the Calculation dialog.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Place a generic product (an office desk, a conveyor etc.) in the drawing area.

  2. Go to the Company menu and open the Calculation dialog.

  3. The article information is now automatically displayed in the dialog.

  4. Click in one of the blue, editable fields and type in the new data. Also, enter a price in the red field. All the fields that have been changed now turn yellow. In a new column on the right-hand side, a Save button is now visible.

  5. Click on the button to save the new information that you have entered in a database. You have now linked the information to this particular product and the next time you place the product on the drawing area, it will be displayed together with it.

 

Note:

  • The information that you enter and save in the Calculation dialog, is saved with the actual components. This means that another InstantPlanner user can open your drawing with the products and the prices that you have specified and be able to view these correctly. However, the actual database that is created is user-specific and cannot be imported or exported.
