Using the Cut, Paste and Copy commands, you can copy, cut and paste components in the drawing area.
Cut works in the same way as in most Windows programs. When you cut a component, you can paste and position it in a different place on the current drawing area or on another drawing area.
Cut is also available in the toolbar and as a shortcut key: Ctrl+X. You can also choose Cut, from the pop-up menu which appears when you right-click on the activated component.
Follow the instructions below, if you want to use the function Cut:
Make sure that the component you want to cut is activated (its yellow snap points are visible).
Use one of the methods listed above to cut the component.
Copy is used to make a copy of a selected component or group. The easiest way to copy a component is by right-clicking.
Follow the instructions below:
Activate the component(s) you want to copy.
Right-click on the component and choose Copy.
Copy is also available as a shortcut key (Ctrl+C) and as a button on the toolbar .
You use Paste in combination with Cut or Copy. When you have cut or copied a component, you can paste it in somewhere else on the same drawing area or on another drawing area. Paste is also on the pop-up menu which appears when you right-click on a component. The cut or copied component is placed at the position of the mouse pointer. You can paste the component as many times as you want.
Follow the instructions below:
Position the mouse pointer where you want to paste the component.
Right-click on the component and choose Paste. A transparent component appears in the drawing area. When you move the mouse pointer, the component follows.
Position the component where you want it by clicking.
Paste is also available as a button on the toolbar and as a shortcut key: Ctrl+V.
