Placing Floors

Under the heading Floor, the Floor component is to be found.

Using the Floor component, you can create a rectangular floor surface. It is neither possible to pre-set values for the floor, nor does the component have a Settings dialog. You can however stretch and rotate the floor and change the color of the floor in 3D.

Note:

  • When changing the color of the Floor component, the change only appears in 3D. The floor appears as a thin surface in 3D.

  • You can also create a floor using the Surface component, on the tab Line Drawing 2. The difference between the two components is that Surface can only be used between lines from the Line Drawing 1 tab, which are connected to one another. The Floor component, however, can be used on its own as well as within lines from the line drawing tab. If you change the material or color of a Surface, you see the changes in 2D, which is not the case with the Floor component. Moreover, the Surface can be any shape you want, whereas the Floor can only be used in rectangular areas.
