Applying Settings

Most Settings dialogs as well as the Material/Color Change dialog for components contain an Apply to field, usually in the bottom left-hand corner of these dialogs. In order to avoid repetitive operations,  you are able to choose to apply the selected changes to several components in one step. For example, if you have changed the size or the color of one component (the one you right-clicked on), you can then, in one step, also apply the changes to a group of components or even to all similar components in the drawing area.

Options

The available options in the Apply to drop-down list are the following:

Example:

You want to change the color of all the doors in a drawing. In this drawing there are so many doors that it would be very time-consuming to change each of them individually.

To change all the doors, follow the instructions below:

  1. Right-click on one of the doors. The doors' snap points appear and a pop-up menu is displayed.

  2. Choose Material/Color from the pop-up menu. The Material/Color Change dialog is displayed.

  3. By the Surface name heading, choose Door from the drop-down list.

  4. You must also select the desired option in the Color Model/Type field, that is if you would like to use a Predefined material, a Texture or an RGB Color.

  5. Choose the desired material or color.

  6. In the Apply to drop-down list, select All. Three new options appear - Equal Components, Equal Surface Names and Equal Material/Color. Let the pre-selected alternative, Equal Components remain active.

  7. Click on OK or Apply.
